Legion’s impact on veteran employment

The American Legion’s Consolidated Post Report highlights how posts support veterans and their families with career opportunities following military transition.

The American Legion assists veterans and their families in their transition to employment through career fairs that posts help sponsor or are present at. The American Legion wants to ensure that veterans and their families receive opportunities for career success once they transition out of the military.

The American Legion’s annual Consolidated Post Report (CPR) captures how posts support veteran careers, even though only 7,920 of the 11,592 American Legion posts submitted a 2025-2026 CPR for a 68% completion rate.

Highlights from the recent CPR show:

2,889 veteran career fairs

1,656 veterans placed in employment

312 promoted Employer of the Year program

48 submitted Employer of the Disabled Award

47 submitted Employer of Older Workers award

83 presented award to local Veterans Employment Representative

97 presented award to Disabled Veterans Outreach Program
