National staff were able to share information on benefits, employment opportunities and more at the May 13 virtual event.
Some 3,400 job seekers attended a May 13 MilitaryHire virtual event which included participation from The American Legion.
Through the Legion’s virtual booth, national staff were able to talk to veterans about their benefits, employment opportunities at the Legion, membership in the Legion, and various employment and education benefits.
Veterans Employment and Education Division Policy Associate Steven Betsch said the Legion “made connections with multiple veterans who shared stories about their experience using their benefits.”
“We are engaging with a number of veterans that we are providing follow-up assistance with, mainly helping them with Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) benefits,” Betsch added.
Upcoming MilitaryHire virtual events are scheduled for June 11 and July 1; both events are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. Go to MilitaryHire.com for more information.
