Artist Matt Hall’s image depicts the common bond of military service across the generations.

“Legacy and Vision” is the title of Texas artist Matt Hall’s American Legion centennial lithograph, the original of which now hangs in the National Executive Committee room at the organization’s national headquarters in Indianapolis. The image depicts a World War I doughboy and a post-9/11 generation warrior gazing at each other, connected on a shared battlefield, under The American Legion emblem.

Five-hundred 22-by-33-inch of the high-quality, frameable prints were signed by the artist, whose paintings have hung in the White House and have been commissioned by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Those are now available for sale at American Legion Emblem Sales for $49.95 each, plus shipping. Unsigned prints are available for $29.95, plus shipping.

Hall has developed and directed imagery for the popular video game “Medal of Honor” and for the Steven Spielberg film “Flags of our Fathers.” His illustrations have also appeared in The American Legion Magazine.
