We’ve created a toolkit to help promote your watch party for ‘America’s Game,’ which The American Legion serves as an associate sponsor.
With The American Legion in its third year as an associate sponsor of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA, Legion posts again are encouraged to open up their doors to the community by hosting Army-Navy Game watch parties.
Last year, more than 100 American Legion posts hosted an Army-Navy Game watch party. This year’s game will take place at 3 p.m. ET on Dec. 12 in East Rutherford, N.J., and will be broadcast by CBS.
If you’re hosting a watch party, we’ve developed a toolkit to help with those efforts. The toolkit includes resources to promote your event on social media, as well as customizable party announcements and flyers.
And keep checking back to see what else is added to the toolkit; expected new additions include a sample press release you can customize with your official Legion Army-Navy Game watch party information and share with your local news outlets, and helpful talking points for hosts of official Legion Army-Navy Game watch parties.
If your post is hosting an Army-Navy Game watch party for Legion Family and community members, submit details of your event here. A list of posts hosting an Army-Navy Game watch party is available on the Find a Watch Party calendar.
Some examples of watch parties that already are planned:
· In Winter Garden, Fla., American Legion Post 63 is inviting veterans, military families and members of our community to celebrate this historic military rivalry. The post is seeking donations of decorations, promotional merchandise, food, beverages, raffle prizes or other game-day supplies. The post will recognize participating businesses during its event and through appropriate event publicity.
· In Kiel, Wis., American Legion Post 477’s watch party will include free appetizers and door prizes for those in Army-Navy or military service apparel. Kids can enjoy activities and there will be raffles. All ages are welcome.
