Page created to allow Legionnaires planning to attend and those living in area to interact, provide local tips leading up late August, then share convention experiences.
The American Legion has created a Facebook page for the 2011 National Convention. The American Legion’s 93rd National Convention in Minneapolis Facebook page is designed to allow American Legion members to share information about Minneapolis, the site of this year’s national convention, and interact with other Legionnaires who plan on attending the national convention.
The hope is that Legionnaires will share, on the page, their favorite local spots in the Minneapolis – dining, entertainment, historical or otherwise. The goal is to have an insider’s perspective of the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The page will also provide pertinent information about the national convention, such as hotel assignments, airfare discounts, and tourist attractions, as well as valuable links, an updated convention calendar, and whatever other items Legion members want to post regarding Minneapolis and this year’s national convention.
And once the convention is underway, the page will be a chance for convention goers to share their experiences in Minneapolis with fellow Legionnaires, whether it’s uploading a parade photo, checking in at an area restaurant or posting a link to a newly discovered local treasure.
