Bank presents donation to Legion's Operation Comfort Warriors fund.

As a token of its appreciation for what veterans have meant to the country, Fifth Third Bank donated $10,000 to The American Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors fund today during the 94th National Convention in Indianapolis.

"I am humbled and honored to be here on behalf of Fifth Third Bank," said Brian Hipskind, executive vice president of Fifth Third Bank in Central Indiana. "I’d just like to start by thanking everyone here for the personal sacrifice every one of you has made for our communities and our country. I’d also like to thank you for your continuous support of the veterans of our country, your local communities and our nation."

OCW funds are used to supplement the high-quality care provided at most military hospitals and transition units in the United States and abroad. Funds go toward items such as exercise equipment, rehabilitation gear or entertainment. And all of OCW's administrative and marketing costs are paid for by the Legion's general fund, meaning that 100 percent of donated funds go directly to purchasing comfort items for troops.
