American Legion National Commander Mike Helm, along with the Legion's National Executive Committee and commission and committee members, will gather in Indianapolis starting this weekend for the 2014 Fall Meetings.

The commissions and committees will begin meeting this Saturday and will deliver their reports to the NEC, Oct. 15-16, for review. A few announcements from the commissions and committees will include the naming of the nine 2014 Samsung American Legion Scholarship recipients and the 2015 Child Welfare Foundation grant recipients.

The NEC will convene next Wednesday morning to review commission reports, vote on resolutions and discuss Legion priorities and initiatives from Helm. A few highlighted topics to be discussed include VA accountability and the success of the Legion's 11 Veterans Crisis Command Centers, and also its new Veterans Outreach Center.
