American Legion partner Founding Fathers presented a check of $75,000 to American Legion Charities at the 106th National Convention in Tampa, Fla., on Aug. 27. Founding Fathers introduced their American lager beer to Legion posts in 2014 and have since introduced a line of gourmet quality ground and K-cup coffee, trail mix snacks, and soft and chewy dog treats. Soon, they will break into the jerky category.
The mission of Founding Fathers is to support American military families with 50% of their profits.
Phil Knutsen, founder and CEO of Founding Fathers, presented the check to National Commander James LaCoursiere Jr. In his remarks to the convention delegation, Knutsen said “the most important thing we can do is get our message out. And we hope you help us with that.”
Knutsen asked Legionnaires to talk about Founding Fathers high quality products and mission with their local retailers and “tell them to bring in a little brand called Founding Fathers.” You can currently purchase Founding Fathers products on Amazon and select k-cup coffee varieties at Dollar General stores.
Besides the donation on the convention floor at the Tampa Convention Center, Founding Fathers presented a $75,000 donation to American Legion Charities last year at the 105th National Convention in New Orleans, as well as $50,000 donation to the Department of Florida’s hurricane relief fund in 2023.
“Help us. We want to get that (donation) number higher,” Knutsen said.
