Meetings abound, but so do other activities.
Saturday, Aug. 23, will be the first day of meetings for many commissions and committees during the 106th American Legion National Convention in Tampa, Fla. But there are plenty of other activities as well – even without the traditional Concert Band Competition – including:
More walk-in eye screenings, claims clinic, and information sessions in the Exhibit Hall and elsewhere;
The first-ever National History Showcase in Room 412-413 of the Tampa Convention Center (TCC), from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.;
a Disaster Preparedness Panel, part of the National Security Commission meeting, in Ballroom D of the TCC at 1 p.m.;
and two showings of the documentary "Truths and Myths About the Vietnam War" at 2 and 4 p.m., in Ballroom C of the TCC.
