Colorado Post and Unit 10 light tree to honor veterans, servicemembers and the fallen.

During the first week of December until after New Year’s Day, members of American Legion Post 10 and Auxiliary Unit 10 in Barre, Vt., light a 30-foot Colorado blue spruce tree on the post’s lawn "as a visual reminder to the community of the sacrifices of many of their citizens," said Maria McKnight, a member of Unit 10.

The tree is located next to a granite monument that reads, "In honor of the veterans living and deceased who have served their country." The tree limbs are decorated with blue lights to remember the deceased veterans and with white lights to remember the living veterans and active-duty servicemembers.
