“Boys State” follows four delegates at the 2018 Texas Boys State program. The film won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize in January.

The award-winning documentary “Boys State” about The American Legion Texas Boys State program, is on Apple TV+ as of Aug. 14.
“Boys State” follows four delegates at the 2018 Texas Boys State program. The film, directed and produced by Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss, won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize in January.
“The perspective of folks who aren’t as invested in the program as we are or as the Legion is helps to validate what we always knew: Boys State and Girls State programs around the country really, truly make an impact and spur talented young people to become leaders in their community,” said Daren Brabham, Texas Boys State’s assistant director of media relations. “And we’re happy there’s a film now that captures that.” Learn more at legion.org/boysnation.

The American Legion’s Consolidated Post Report (CPR) for the 2019-2020 membership year was due to National Headquarters by July 1. To date, over 8,611 of the more than 12,600 American Legion posts submitted a CPR for an average completion rate of 68 percent. Six American Legion departments achieved 100 percent post reporting – Idaho, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Oregon.
