The trophy is awarded based on a department’s CPR and narrative supporting its Americanism programs.
In honor of Daniel J. O'Connor, National Americanism Commission chairman from 1962-1983 and chairman emeritus from 1984-2004, the Daniel J. O’Connor Americanism Trophy is presented annually to the department that attains the greatest number of percentage points derived from the activities reported on the Consolidated Post Report form and that submits a narrative of not more than 500 words supporting its Americanism programs.
The narrative is due to National Headquarters July 14, 2023.
