At Wellcare, we are proud to share the strong and growing partnership we’ve built with American Legion Post 116 in Fuquay-Varina, N.C. By attending their monthly meetings, we stay connected with upcoming events and continuously look for ways to sponsor, participate and lend a helping hand with ongoing projects.
When Post 116 Commander David Rossner took office last year, one of his top goals was to replace the post’s outdated roadside sign with an electronic sign that could better promote community outreach and fundraising events. We were honored to support this vision by presenting a $7,170 check to Post 116, made possible through a year of collaboration, fundraising and shared events.
Also, a special thank you to Post 116 Adjutant Paul Ferris. His leadership and dedication have helped us build relationships not only with Post 116 but with posts across the state and beyond. Through his introductions — at state conventions, in personal emails, and even at the national convention in New Orleans last year — he has helped us share the value of Wellcare’s partnership with the American Legion Family.
Here are just a few highlights of how Wellcare has been proud to stand alongside Post 116:
- Contributing baskets and prizes for fundraising raffles and community events
- Donating work gloves and bottled water for post cleanup efforts
- Providing educational presentations on how Wellcare Medicare Advantage Plans complement VA benefits
- Hosting a booth at the annual car show
- Sponsoring “Team Wellcare” at the annual golf tournament, where we also hosted the putting contest
- Supporting Boys State and Girls State attendees with scholarships
