The American Legion partner is available to help your post host an annual enrollment period event.
As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, Wellcare would like to take a moment to reflect on what we’re most grateful for: you.
Your service, sacrifice and continued commitment to your communities embody the true spirit of this season. Thanksgiving is about more than food and tradition; it’s about gratitude, connection and giving back — values that align perfectly with the mission of The American Legion.
This holiday, we honor you not only for the role you played in protecting our nation but also for the countless ways you continue to make a difference today. From supporting fellow veterans to strengthening your local communities, you inspire us all.
From our Wellcare family to yours, we wish you a warm and joyful Thanksgiving filled with peace, health and gratitude.
Keep the momentum going this AEP – Tools and tips for your post
Thanks to your leadership and engagement, American Legion posts across the country are hosting successful annual enrollment period (AEP) events that connect veterans to valuable health information and community support.
As we move through the heart of AEP (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7), Wellcare is here to help your post keep that momentum going with new resources, planning tools, and ways to highlight your post’s success.
Host a Mid-AEP event at your post
There’s still plenty of time to plan or expand your AEP outreach! Posts are finding great success with:
- Coffee and conversation events – informal gatherings where members can connect with a Wellcare representative
- Veteran resource fairs – bring together multiple community partners for one day of support
- Social hour or game day – low-pressure, high-engagement ways to share resources
Your Community Relations Specialist (CRS) can help coordinate supplies, materials, and licensed agent support for any event idea that fits your post. Email mailto:NationalEvents@centene.com to be connected with your local CRS.
Spotlight: Posts making a difference
We’ve seen amazing participation from Legion posts across the country:
- Posts in Florida hosted “Honor & Heroes” game days, attracting dozens of members.
- Arizona and Kentucky posts held community health fairs featuring local partners.
- Several Midwest posts set up information tables to share Medicare resources during weekly member gatherings.
If your post has hosted an event, we’d love to see your photos and stories! Share them with us at NationalEvents@centene.com or post them on legiontown.org to inspire others.
Tools and materials for post commanders

Reminder: Keep it educational
As a reminder, Legion leaders and volunteers should not discuss plan details or enrollment options. Wellcare representatives and licensed agents are available to handle all member-specific Medicare questions.
If your members have questions about Wellcare or AEP, email us NationalEvents@centene.com to be connected to your Community Relations Specialist.
Thank you for your partnership
Your continued engagement makes a real impact in the lives of veterans and their families. Every event, conversation, and connection helps bring resources to those who served.
