We want to update the American Legion’s New Member Welcome Toolkit with more best practices on retaining members.
A Legionnaire recently shared that a veteran walked in to his post and signed up to become a member all because a post member said “Hi” when he walked in. That is an example of how we welcome new members and retain them.
This best practice is one of many featured in The American Legion’s New Member Welcome Toolkit. The toolkit is available in digimag format here to flip through. Or, it can be downloaded for printing at legion.org/publications under Membership.
The new member welcome toolkit features dos and don’ts, best practices and resources to welcome, engage and create a lasting impression. This resource is filled with best practices on how posts are welcoming new members, and resources to educate new members on who The American Legion is, and the impact the organization has from the post to national level.
