Registration deadline is July 17. Hotel reservations received after July 17 will be subject to availability.

The National Membership Workshop provides an opportunity for members to learn, collaborate and build a stronger American Legion. The blocks of instruction provides tools, ideas and strategies that participants will carry forward into the next phase of learning.

This year’s workshop features four learning tracks:

Red Track For participants who are early in their membership development and want to build a strong foundation. This track focuses on the fundamentals of membership, leadership responsibilities, and understanding how The American Legion’s processes support growth and engagement. Participants will also receive instruction on resolution development and how ideas become policy within the organization.

Blue Track For participants who understand how membership works and are ready to explore new strategies, innovative approaches, and advanced membership concepts to strengthen their posts and communities.

Yellow Track For participants focused on developing and executing membership strategies at the district level. This track emphasizes coordination, coaching and supporting posts across a broader geographic area.

Green Track For legacy leaders who are ready to strengthen, mentor and guide long-term membership success. This track focuses on organizational leadership, succession planning, mentoring future leaders and sustaining membership growth for years to come.

On Saturday afternoon, participants will transition from instruction to application through facilitated small-groups. During these sessions, attendees will work collaboratively to develop membership plans using the concepts and strategies explored throughout the workshop.

The workshop culminates with participants gathering with their regional groups and national vice commanders to develop a comprehensive department membership plan. This final exercise brings together the work of all four tracks, allowing departments to leverage the collective knowledge, ideas and solutions developed throughout the workshop and return home with actionable strategies for the membership year ahead.
