HF NETS UPDATE
The monthly 20 Meter American Legion Amateur Radio Club Net that meets the 2nd Saturday of each month with Net Control Bill, KI0CW, runs on or about 14.280 MHz. The net is held at 1800 Zulu.
The weekly American Legion 75 Meter Net that has been running EVERY SATURDAY on 3919 KHz, at 2000 CST (0200 UTC) is on temporary hold as Net Control Art, KG4EYG, is moving to another location and will return once he is able to reinstall his antenna farm.
Great news: the monthly 40 Meter Net that has been on hold returns Dec. 14 and every 2nd SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH after that. It will be held on 7.243 MHz, 1700 EST (2200 UTC) or immediately following the Drake Technical Net. Terry, KE6RWB, will be Net Control from Phoenix.
IRLP – Echolink NET
The American Legion IRLP/Echolink Net is gaining momentum and continues to grow. It is held the 2nd Saturday of every month at 2 p.m. EST (1900 UTC). To add Echolink operability, we’ve moved to IRLP CHANNEL 9735. For Echolink users, you may connect using conference call sign *CROSSRDS* (aka 99735.) Until we find a volunteer Net Control for a ten meter net, the IRLP/Echolink net is perfect for all Technician class members to check in and participate in TALARC ops.
REGIONAL NETS
TALARC members are encouraged to consider holding local and regional nets at times and bands convenient to members. Just drop us a line and let us know your schedules – we will post them on the national TALARC webpage.

Remarks:
1. Net Control experienced a momentary home power outage at beginning of net operations. Recovered and continued the net.
2. New, longer format recommended by Lee, WA2VFK, seems to work extremely well. Continued for collect calls for a full hour and spread the net announcements over that time. Time allows for rag-chewing and to ask for members to contribute, as did Laimon, KC4AXT, with information about Knoxville, Tenn.’s Veterans Day Parade and the involvement of his American Legion post. Others also piped in and all were well received.
3. Club President Marty, W9WMJ, checked in with further announcements and a call for participation. The appearance of the TALARC president added to the experience and should be continued with a club officer offering “traffic” during the net.
4. Net Control has begun collecting participant information and will share with TALARC officers for use in future net operations.

Submitted by Bill, NZ9S, Net Control.
