Ohio event is considered the world's largest.
The American Legion Amateur Radio Club will again have a presence at the Annual Hamvention at Dayton, Ohio, May 20 - 22. More than 25,000 amateur radio enthusiasts from across the country and around the world will come together at the three-day event, and staff from National Headquarters in Indianapolis will be on hand at the Hara Arena complex, manning a booth (in the same location for the third consecutive year).
Club President Marty Justis commented, "Over the last few years, our visit there has been rewarding for the Legion in general and for the club in particular. The club's exhibit gives The American Legion great exposure, letting visitors know that the Legion is a veterans service organization and that it can be a community service organization as well, through the volunteer resources of amateur radio. Each year we have met visitors to our booth who were surprised and pleased to learn that the Legion, as an organization, was active in amateur radio."
TALARC members who plan to attend are invited to stop by to visit. Those who both plan to be there and have the time have an opportunity to help talk up TALARC themselves. Contact TALARC VP Bill, NZ9S, at wsloan@legion.org in advance, or stop by the TALARC booth (#0245) while there, to let him know of any availability on any of the three days.
