Arkansas member talks about club-group interaction.
Last month's newsletter mentioned TALARC's membership successes at the Dayton Hamvention in May. We picked up a few new Legion members, and quite a few new TALARC members who were already Legionnaires. Welcome to all of you who are now part of The American Legion Amateur Radio Club. We hope you'll take a few minutes to learn more about TALARC, why it was established and what we are about, by visiting the radio club website at www.legion.org/hamradio.
It was also noted in the June newsletter that our small contingent at Dayton included a professional videographer. That person was/is TALARC recording secretary Mike, W9MNA, who was there to capture first-person accounts about forming a post radio club and/or post club station.
Our thanks to TALARC member Frank Adkins, KC6YOT, of Cabot, Ark., for taking a few minutes to speak with us at Dayton. Please watch the video to learn how Frank and other members of STARS [Small Town Amateur Radio Service] became very closely associated with and strongly supported by Criswell-Robinson American Legion Post 71 in Cabot. I invite your attention to the club website, www.legion.org/hamradio, for the video "TALARC hits Dayton Hamvention."
