Promote TALARC website

Ham Radio

TALARC president encourages members to use club site as recruitment tool.

When you speak with someone who expresses interest in amateur radio and the Legion, consider sending them to the Club website – www.legion.org/hamradio – for information about the club, ham radio and how to become a member of both the Legion and TALARC.
Be mindful that the website is open to the public. You need not be a member of the Legion or TALARC to access the site; no passwords are needed. Once on the club site, there is information about amateur radio, what it is, how to get licensed, how to start a local unit of TALARC, and more. There are resources on the site with information on the use of IRLP, EchoLink, D-Star, PSK-31 and other modes of communication. There are photos and short stories on what members of the Legion radio club are doing around the country. And if the person you spoke with is both a Legion, Auxiliary, or SAL member in good standing AND a licensed amateur radio operator, they can join TALARC online by inputting the requested information . . . and it is free.
If you haven't been to the site yourself for a while, please take a few minutes to look through the list of items on the left of the landing page, see what's there and consider how you may best use that information to your advantage.
