Mark, W2UIS, who serves as NCS for our monthly D-Star nets, will soon be calling CQ for the Northeast Region 20 Meter net.
In trying to grow on-air participation within the Legion radio club, we are constantly looking for club members who are willing to act as a net control station. Recently we asked members to give thought to taking on that job as NCS with special attention to HF "regions" around the nation. We're happy to report that we have a new HF net about to get underway.
Mark, W2UIS, who serves as NCS for our monthly D-Star nets, will soon be calling CQ for the Northeast Region 20 Meter net. The net will operate on the second Sunday of each month, at 1600 Eastern [2000Z] on frequency 14.285 MHz USB [+/- 5 KHz]. The first on-air operations are set for Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at 4 p.m. Eastern.
This newest activity will add to the HF nets currently active on the 20-meter and 40-meter bands. It will provide one more opportunity for contact by our members who, because of equipment, antenna or power limitations, can't reach the existing nets.
