K5TAL TALARC Digital Voice Net July 18, 2019
7pm CDT – 8:01 pm CDT
Year 1, Week 2.
Last week I commented on the fact that we knew there would be “glitches.” Well, the glitches showed up this week. I had everything set, NetLogger running, and as soon as I keyed the mic I realized that I was not transmitting. Not on the Icom radio, the DV 3k Dongle or the Yaesu C4FM. Lee must have known and picked up and ran the net. I could hear what was going on, but could not link to the XRF 757 A reflector. Suddenly, about 45 minutes into the net, I could transmit. This was after I had turned everything off, and rebooted the computers. Glitches….. Anyway, we ended up with 12 states represented, and 1 foreign country, Australia. Thanks Bob VK2DY.

Other nets were discussed. Marty W9WMJ mentioned the 101st Convention, and TALARC’s involvement in those activities, and if any ham is going to be in Indianapolis, stop in and if you have some time to spare, help out at the booth. Next week, I will be gathering information on military status.
If you have a digital voice-capable radio D-Star, C4FM, or DMR, and would like to join next Thursday’s net, all information can be found at www.openquad.net.
