Announcements: From Dec Net Announcements: The LEGION Act opens Legion membership to all veterans who have served at least 1 day on active duty and have received a DD 214 indicating honorable discharge. All other Legion membership requirements remain in effect. Also, in an effort to expand net operations, TALARC is looking for a club interested in taking NCS duties for a 40 meter net. If interested, contact Josh KD9HDX at K9TAL@Legion.net.

WV5Q Don announced that shortly after the first of the year, Quadnet will initiate an HF D-Star to Quadnet bridge. This means that anyone with an Icom HF radio capable of D-Star will be able to join the nets. They are also considering a contest using HF Digital.

Other nets were discussed. Ken KY4KD gave info on the D-Star net on Jan. 6 at 0100z on reflector 56C. All nets can be seen as well as the net reports by going to www.legion.org/hamradio.

If you have a digital voice-capable radio D-Star, C4FM, Wires-X or DMR, and would like to join next Thursday’s net, all information can be found at www.openquad.net. NOTE: The C4FM reflector can be found at Quadnet-Array, Node 45058, D-Star via XRF 757A, and DMR via Talkgroup 31012.
