* INDICATES FIRST-TIME CHECK-IN

Announcements: Digital Voice Net listed below, and D-Star Net, Post 46 Wilderness Road, Danville, KY on Monday, Sept. 7 at 8pm EDT on Reflector 56C, and EchoLink node KY4RW-L. Early check-ins start at 1930 EDT. Ernie W5DFC asked about starting a new AL post in Brandon, Miss. I provided him with the email for Jerry Allhands KF5SBP, who is district commander. Al WV1Q reported that he had been contacted by the son of a friend in Georgia. The deceased was a Marine vet and the son was seeking information/help for burial. I referred him to the service officer at the closest Legion post or VFW. It was brought up that we all should find out this information for future use.

Thursdays at 7 pm CST, K5TAL hosts an all-digital net via a service called Quadnet Array (www.openquad.net). This service allows any form of digital voice to be routed so DMR users can hear D-Star and C4FM Fusion, D-Star can hear everyone, as can C4FM users. It also allows DV Dongle users to communicate likewise. The net is listed on the www.openquad.net website. You can listen to the HF 80 meter by going to www.n4dkd.com and enter the frequency and LSB. If you have an Apple device, there is a box to the right to enable audio for IOS.

For God and Country
