Announcements were read that included:
1) March 15 is the 103rd birthday of the Legion
2) The Monday 80m net has moved to 3.865 MHz
3) Daylight Saving Time going into effect on Sunday, March 13

Discussion was opened with two questions: Has anyone on today’s net checked into other nets? And: Is there a better time/day for the K9TAL Saturday EchoLink net? Mike N9FEB offered that evening operations on the 80m nets might be a bit too late in the day for this band and its current conditions. Art W5ATK, NCS for the Monday 80m net, noted that the operating frequency [originally 3.862 MHz] was getting bleedover from another station and so has moved up freq to 3.865. He asked those on the net to spread the word about the Monday 80m net. Everett WA3DVO reported that N3TAL will conduct a special event station in commemoration of National Vietnam Veterans Day on March 18, 1800Z-2200Z. Everett also noted that efforts at conducting a Saturday 40m net was still getting limited participation, further noting that band conditions, not power, has been the problem. Mike W9MNA reminded everyone of the May 20-22 HamVention in Xenia, Ohio. Mike N9FEB, also a Legion Rider, noted that he would be participating in the “Rolling to Remember” event in Washington, D.C., on May 29. The motorcycle “demonstration ride” in our nation’s capitol is an effort to raise awareness of the critical issues facing our nation’s veterans. And finally, Ken KB3IIE noted that N3TAL monitors the K3MRC repeater in the D.C. area; frequency is 145.430 with a 114.8 PL Tone.

The TALARC/K9TAL EchoLink Conference Net for November closed at 1259 ET [1759Z].
