The American Legion has released a handbook that compiles all the services and resources available to homeless veterans.
Getting homeless veterans off the streets is a priority not just for The American Legion and Department of Veterans Affairs but for many other care providers and veterans organizations. The Legion has compiled the wealth of resources these entities offer in its Handbook For Homeless Veterans and Service Providers, a comprehensive guide for aid available to homeless veterans.
ON-CALL: Handbook For Homeless Veterans and Service Providers is a joint production of The American Legion and National Coalition for Homeless Veterans. The publication provides an in-depth listing of employment resources, housing assistance, health or legal services, and other support systems available to homeless veterans. It is written for veterans who are in crisis and need assistance and for individuals and organizations who are looking to start homeless veterans programs.
Specifically, Legionnaires and posts are encouraged to utilize the handbook to assist homeless veterans and start homeless veterans initiatives of their own.
