The American Legion Department of Indiana is honoring the 15-year anniversary of 9/11 by hosting a day filled with free events for veterans, their families and community members.

Legion Day on Sept. 11 will kick off with the second annual 5K Walk/Run for Veterans, followed by a 9/11 remembrance ceremony featuring guest speaker Brig. Gen. Michael Osburn; a groundbreaking ceremony for the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame Museum with guest speaker and inductee American Legion Past National Commander Jim Koutz; and a free lunch. Legion service officers will be available to assist veterans with VA benefits and claims. And military displays will be on site, along with bounce houses for the children.
