PNC Clarence M. Bacon passes away

A World War II Navy veteran and 68-year Legionnaire, Bacon died Nov. 10 at age 95.

American Legion Past National Commander Clarence M. Bacon passed away Nov. 10 at age 95. Bacon served as national commander from 1984 to 1985 and was a 68-year Legionnaire, most recently at Greenbelt American Legion Post 136 in Greenbelt, Md.

Bacon was a World War II Navy veteran who served in several positions in The American Legion from the post to national level. A story highlighting Bacon’s years of service to The American Legion will be featured on legion.org in the coming days.
