American Legion members, first responders and community members gather during a ceremony to mark the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks in Loveland, Colo., on September 11, 2019.

American Legion Family members encouraged to share stories, photos from their Patriot Day events this weekend.

As we approach the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon and on United Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, American Legion Family members across the nation are planning various ways to honor the 2,996 killed that day.

Whether its staging motorcycle rides or leading parade efforts, conducting 2.5k and 5k runs or coordinating traditional ceremonies, members of the American Legion Family are leading efforts to commemorate Patriot Day and honor the victims.

We want to help you share how you’re observing the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Please share your Patriot Day events, including photos, at legiontown.org, so we can share them in our national media.
