Three congressional hearings next week will feature testimony by experts from The American Legion’s national staff in Washington.

The extent to which veterans are aware of their appeal rights, under the geographic burden exception, will also be discussed.

Steve Gonzalez, assistant director for the Veterans Employment & Education Division, will testify March 24 before the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. The hearing will examine issues related to veteran-owned small businesses, the GI Bill and homeless veterans.

John Stovall, director of the National Security Division, will testify March 25 before the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel. The hearing will gauge the views of stakeholders on recommendations made by the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission.
