Past National Commander Michael J. Kogutek, who led The American Legion from 1980 to 1981, passed away Aug. 30 at age 86. He was a World War II Navy petty officer.
A viewing will take place from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 4 at Lombardo Funeral Home, 3060 Abbott Road, Orchard Park, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, South Buffalo St., and Thorn Ave., Orchard Park, on Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. (please assemble at church). Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the PNC Michael J. Kogutek American Legion Scholarship Trust, c/o Michael D. Kogutek, P.O. Box 497,Silverado Canyon, CA 92676.
