Legion research tool continually adding new items, collections.
In late January, The American Legion Digital Archive was released for general use. The Digital Archive is a research tool, customized by American Legion Library staff, that allows full-text access to a host of Legion materials and publications from National Headquarters.
In the last six months, more than 2,600 people have visited the archive and more than 350 items have been added to it. These items include:
-
Issues of the Convention Program & Annual Report from 1997-2001
-
Brochures, manuals and pamphlets from 1998-2012 from Americanism, Baseball, Children & Youth, Economic and Public Relations
-
Legislative point papers from 2003-2012
-
More than 300 congressional statements and related documents from 1999-2011
-
240 additional active resolutions, fulfilling the archive back to 1992
As of the 2012 Spring National Executive Committee Meetings, the Digital Archive is the access point for Legion resolutions. The Resolutions (http://www.legion.org/resolutions) page contains a "Search Resolutions" button that links to the archive.
