National Historian's Luncheon speaker taped by cable network for airing, on-demand.

Part of the National Historian's Luncheon at the 97th National Convention in Baltimore in August aired on C-SPAN3’s American History TV on Sept. 26, after being taped by the cable network.At the Aug. 29 luncheon, 2014-2015 National Historian Susan Mason introduced Vince Vaise, chief of interpretation at Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine near Baltimore. Vaise talked about the roles played by the city and the fort in the War of 1812, and how the 1814 Battle of Baltimore led to Francis Scott Key's writing of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” which ultimately became the national anthem.Located justa few miles from downtown, Fort McHenry was a popular destination for convention-goers.
