Indiana to celebrate Legion Day on Sunday

American Legion family and community members invited to attend the event on Sept. 10 for 9/11 remembrance ceremony, food and games.

The American Legion Department of Indiana is hosting a day filled with games, food and a 9/11 remembrance ceremony for veterans, their families and community members.

Legion Day on Sept. 10 will feature games and activities for all ages, a chili cook-off, free lunch, bake sale and a 9/11 remembrance ceremony. The event is also a time to turn in membership cards and Legion service officers will be on hand to help veterans with their benefits.

To support Hurricane Harvey and Irma relief efforts, the department will be collecting supplies and donations. Click here to see the list of items needed.

The day's events will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Department of Indiana headquarters, located at 5440 Herbert Lord Rd., Indianapolis. For more information, visit www.indianalegion.org.
