The American Legion's 56th annual National Membership Workshop will be held in Indianapolis, Aug. 9-10, at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel.
Attendees will hear remarks from American Legion National Commander Brett Reistad, National Adjutant Daniel Wheeler, leading candidate for 2019-2020 national commander Bill Oxford of North Carolina and Auxiliary National Vice President Nicole Clapp of Iowa.
During the workshop, attendees will break out into three sessions – long term membership planning, district commander and department membership chairman. During the sessions, attendees will focus on recruiting and retention; training initiatives; post operations; revitalization; the responsibilities and challenges of district commanders; and more.
