American Legion service officers, appeals reps producing billions in benefits for disabled veterans.
The American Legion’s accredited service officers and appeals representatives are delivering for the nation’s disabled veterans. After a 2022 that saw caseloads and compensation spike, the Legion’s claims experts were on pace for another record year, assisting veterans free of charge, in their applications for disability benefits and cases when VA decisions are disputed.
The Legion also finished the 2022-23 membership year with more than 77,000 new faces, recruited traditionally into local posts. That number exceeded the goal set by American Legion National Commander Vincent J. “Jim” Troiola when he was elected last September.
Scholarship dollars, flag queries and congressional testimony on the need to reduce veteran suicide rates topped the June 2023 Membership Impact Report. To see the whole report, as well as those from previous months, click here.
