Legion-born outreach program adopted by VA; commander responds to warfare in the Middle East; and an American Legion Baseball alum is clutch in the World Series.
An American Legion program that debuted in March 2019 went national in October when the Department of Veterans Affairs launched its first Buddy Check Week across the country. The nation’s largest veterans service organization also awarded scholarships, disaster-relief funds and certificates of recognition to Scouts.
