Benefits assistance and informational session taking place Dec. 13 at American Legion Post 101.
A veterans outreach and district revitalization effort will take place in the American Legion Department of Alabama on Dec. 13. Veterans in and around Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, and Winston Counties are encouraged to attend either to discuss veterans’ benefits, and learn about the Legion’s legislative efforts, membership opportunities and service to the community. An American Legion service officer will be on hand to assist with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs benefits claims and answer other questions.
The effort will take place at Carbon Hill Post 101, 330 SW 3rd St., Carbon Hill from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
