Director Jake Rademacher previously discussed the project on the Tango Alpha Lima Be The One podcast.
A new documentary exploring the transition from the battlefield to civilian life will open in theaters nationwide on Feb. 28.
“Brothers After War” won the Best Documentary Audience Choice Award at the San Diego International Film Festival. Director Jake Rademacher spoke about the film and its predecessor, “Brothers At War,” on The American Legion’s Tango Alpha Lima Be The One podcast last fall.
“Brothers After War” takes the viewer across four continents as Rademacher seeks out his brothers, as well as the friends he made while embedded in Iraq from 2005-07. The film offers a sobering yet uplifting perspective, as veterans openly confront the trauma of war while rediscovering camaraderie and purpose.
“We want our veterans to be able to talk about things before it becomes a crisis. We want their friends to see if something's wrong before it becomes a crisis,” Rademacher, an alumnus of Illinois Boys State, said on the Be The One podcast.
More information on the film, as well as tickets for local showings, are available at BrothersAfterWar.com.
