69 years ago today, a surprise attack launched the United States into World War II. Today, we still remember.
On the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, as soldiers, sailors and airmen slept or went about their regular morning routines at Pearl Harbor, a mass of Japanese bombers approached through the air off the coast of Hawaii. Within hours, the Japanese had delivered what they thought was a crippling blow to the U.S. Navy. The U.S.'s involvement in World War II had begun.
