App features tailored content and fully customized experience for military members, veterans and their families.

A new mobile app will bring users top headlines, pay and benefit updates from America’s largest military and veteran membership organization.

Military.com is launching Military News, a replacement of the original Military.com app. Military News by Military.com will provide instant access to relevant content utilizing customizable newsfeed controls, social media sharing and breaking alert notifications.

The app is now available on both Google Play and iTunes. Users will receive top Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force and Coast Guard headlines alongside pay and benefit updates through a redesigned mobile interface. Servicemembers, spouses, veterans and military news enthusiasts can now access information in a streamlined design.

“We are proud to launch our latest mobile app, which continues to elevate services to the military and veteran community,” said Greg Smith, president of Military.com and a retired Navy admiral. “Our audience is highly mobile, relying heavily on their smart phones to stay connected. By designing an improved mobile experience that helps users to personalize news around the topics they care most about, we are able to better empower our entire network.”

The new Military News app also features a “Related Resources” function to connect users with similar profiles, improved offline experiences and deeper access to popular military discounts and veteran jobs that are frequently updated across the Military.com network.

Since the new app replaces the original Military.com app, it must be separately downloaded from the appropriate mobile app store. The previous app has been removed and no future updates will be provided so as to place resources under the current mobile offering, allowing further development for customizable controls, advanced alert notifications and other mobile advancements.
