Olympics roundup: Army specialists part of sixth-place Nordic combined team

The 2022 Winter Games conclude with 25 medals for Team USA.

Army specialists Jasper Good and Ben Loomis, members of the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), helped Team USA finish sixth overall in the Nordic combined team competition on Feb. 17 at the Winter Olympics.

Good and Loomis teamed with Taylor Fletcher and Jared Shumate to finish 2 minutes, 22 seconds behind the gold medalists from Norway.

Team USA finished fifth overall in the medal count at the 2022 Winter Olympics, with 25.

Here’s a look at how other servicemembers on Team USA fared in the final days of the Games in China:

Biathlon

Vermont Army National Guard Spec. Deedra Irwin placed 23rd overall in the women’s 12.5K mass start on Feb. 18, 3:24.1 behind gold medalist Justine Braisaz-Bouchet of France.

Bobsled

Army Spc. Frank Del Duca and Hakeem Abdul-Saboor, along with teammates Carlo Valdes and James Reed, tied for 13th overall in the four-man bobsled on Feb. 20. They finished 3.35 behind the gold medalists from Germany.
