Veterans help team rout Canada and South Korea to advance.
The first week of the 2022 Winter Paralympics saw Team USA’s sled hockey team cruise through pool play thanks to efforts by former servicemembers on the squad.
The Americans defeated Canada, 5-0, and South Korea, 9-1, to earn a spot in the semifinals. The win over Canada was the largest margin of victory between the teams in Paralympic history.
Army veteran Jen Lee stopped nine shots in goal for the shutout of Canada and stopped the only two shots he faced in two periods of play against South Korea.
Retired Lance Cpl. Josh Misiewicz scored a goal in each game.
Team USA will face China in Friday’s semifinals.
