North, South Korea exchange warning shots along border, Luke Skywalker sends drones to Ukraine.

1.   North and South Korea exchanged warning shots along their western sea border Monday, the same day Seoul and Washington kicked off four days of naval drills “in preparation for enemy provocations,” the South’s Ministry of National Defense said.

2.   The doctors are preparing for cold days in the basement. They already spent four months performing surgeries there this year, from the war’s early days until well into the Russian occupation of Izium. At least they can expect the generator to have a steady supply of fuel, even if it’s no match for the winter air that will blow in through the glassless windows and collapsed walls of a hilltop hospital in northeast Ukraine.

3.   He may have hung up his lightsaber as Luke Skywalker in 2019, but “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill is still fighting. This time, it’s for Ukraine. During an interview with Bloomberg Radio’s Sound On program, the actor revealed he helped send 500 drones to Ukraine.

4.   Fort Belvoir police say a daylong barricade on base Sunday ended peacefully about 3 p.m. The barricaded person was "taken into custody by Army Criminal Investigation Division," the base said on Facebook. FBI Washington Field Office and Fort Belvoir Army Community services were providing victim assistance services to support all who were affected, the post said.

5.   “It’s really going to do a lot of presumptive condition to veterans about the disability compensation, is going to open up health care eligibility to a lot of veterans that couldn’t before. It’s just a lot of different things that are in there that are really going to help veterans and their families.” There was an informational meeting Saturday at the Wilmington, N.C., American Legion Post 10 that invited veterans to learn about a new law that may change their lives.
