The Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors web page now features links for visitors to easily donate to and learn more about the program.

In support of American Legion National Commander James E. Koutz’s main fundraising program, the Operation Comfort Warriors (OCW) web page has been upgraded.

The page now features accessible links for visitors to easily and efficiently donate to the charity, or access information about the program, its history, how recipients benefit and more. Additionally, news stories about OCW will appear on the web page, www.legion.org/ocw.

The Legion has also produced two new brochures about OCW that explain in detail how the program works and how departments, posts and individuals can support the cause. The brochures are available for download here.

A full 100 percent of donations to the program go toward the purchase and delivery of comfort items for wounded servicemen and women. Administrative and marketing funds come from membership fees paid by Legionnaires.

The Legion contacts officials at military hospitals, warrior transition units and surrounding communities, and obtains lists to determine which items are needed by wounded, injured or ill servicemembers. Once a need is identified, the items are ordered by the Legion and delivered in an expeditious manner.

Commander Koutz has set a goal of $500,000 to be raised this year for OCW. To donate, please click here.
