New version adds digital resources, services.
LEARN HOW YOUR PLANNED GIFT CAN HELP THE AMERICAN LEGION
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has launched an expanded mobile app designed to give taxpayers more convenient access to federal tax information and services from their devices. The offering reflects the agency’s continued shift toward broader online access.
“The new IRS app puts more services at taxpayers’ fingertips,” IRS Chief Executive Officer Frank J. Bisignano said. “It advances our digital-first agenda to meet taxpayers how and where they choose to interact with the IRS, whether at home or on the go. Our goal is to make services easy to access and more consistent across all our platforms.”
The app provides taxpayers with access to a range of IRS services. Among other features, they can access their IRS Online Account, view tax information and records, make or manage payments, check refund information and access other commonly used tools.
If a taxpayer already has the previous IRS2Go app downloaded, it will automatically update to the new version, which does not replace existing digital resources. As a reminder, the IRS will not ask for sensitive personal information via text, email or a pop-up message. Taxpayers should be careful to only download the verified app.
