Wounded troop thought he was going to lunch but Bass Pro Shop and Legion-supported wish-granting program had a different plan.
Bass Pro Shop, in conjunction with American Legion-supported Soldier’s Wish and entertainer Tony Orlando, brightened the holidays for Army Staff Sgt. Daryl Fiset, who was wounded in an improvised explosive device attack in Afghanistan and is now recovering at Fort Hood, Texas.
Staff Sgt. Fiset has undergone surgery for brain tumors and is now awaiting a double hip replacement, but he has a new bass boat awaiting him when he’s feeling better, thanks to the program that grants wishes to active-duty military personnel throughout the country. The boat was presented to the soldier Christmas Eve in Broken Arrow, Okla.
