The training session will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, July 21.
Dear TALMA members,
Responding to a crisis can make or break an organization. It takes a team effort, quick thinking and decisive action as illustrated by how the Department of Ohio defused a controversy at a Memorial Day event.
That will be the subject of The American Legion Media Alliance virtual training for July.
During this training, Department of Ohio Adjutant Suzette Heller and national Deputy Director of Media & Communications Henry Howard will discuss how to best handle a crisis that could become a public relations nightmare. The session will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, July 21. Sign up here.
Looking ahead, the August training session will be in person and virtual! For those attending national convention, please stop by the annual Media Training Workshop, which TALMA is handling. On Monday, Aug. 30, we will be hosting sessions throughout the day, including:
- How to obtain credibility with local print and electronic media to have articles published.
- Interviewing techniques.
- Tips for improving your writing.
- How to use Canva.
- Sessions focused on newsletters, Facebook and videos.
Details are still be worked out. Stay tuned for more details.
Thank you for what you do to promote The American Legion!
Sincerely,
Walter Ivie
