New TALMA training videos available

A reminder that this month’s session is “Beyond Facebook: Using Twitter, Instagram and YouTube effectively.” It will start at 7 p.m. Eastern this Wednesday, Sept. 29.

Great news, friends! We have published and made available the videos from the TALMA training session at national convention. Topics covered include engaging your local media, using Canva, newsletter tips, best practices for interviewing and much more.

The panelists will be:

  • Amy Wieser Willson, a 14-year member of American Legion Post 2 in Fargo, N.D., is a disabled Iraq war veteran and owner of Neon Loon Communications LLC. She has received national awards for social media management, spoken about social media at national conferences for FEMA and National Guard PIOs, and has provided training on social media, public relations and crisis communications for the Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana’s National Disaster Management Organization. 
     
  • Ben Mikesell, a visual journalist with The American Legion national headquarters. He handles much of the photographs, videos and other visual treatments for all American Legion media, from the magazine to the website to other digital products, including social media accounts. Ben has previously appeared as a panelist in our training and has provided great information for our members.
