Tango Alpha Lima was cited in the PRNEWS’ Nonprofit Awards for its special 20-part podcast series honoring the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The American Legion Tango Alpha Lima podcast picked up its second award for its ambitious 20-20-20 series, which honored the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

On March 8, PRNEWS’ Nonprofit awards named Tango Alpha Lima one of two “honorable mentions” in the podcast category. There was just one overall winner selected in the annual international competition.

The 20-20-20 series, available in audio format here and video on our YouTube page, featured inspiring and captivating individual stories related to the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Among the guests were former Past American Legion National Commander Ric Santos, who was on Capitol Hill that morning; former POW Jessica Lynch; retired Marine Lt. Col. Darling, who spent the day with President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney; Robert Douglas, one of the air traffic controllers for Flight 93 and others.

Last December, the 9/11 series won the Innovative Communication Program Award from the Indiana Society of Association Executives. That award recognizes “any improved or innovative tactic your association has used to communicate to its membership.”

Each week a new episode is available for download by 9 a.m. Eastern time.
